Travel The Unknown Ltd has ceased to trade with immediate effect.
No further bookings are being taken and customers with existing bookings will not be able to travel as planned. It is anticipated that the company will formally enter into liquidation on or before 1 September 2021. The company has appointed Herron Fisher, licensed insolvency practitioners, to manage this process.
Herron Fisher will contact all customers who hold bookings with Travel The Unknown Ltd by email by no later than Friday 13th August 2021. This email will include details of how customers can make a claim for any monies they have paid to Travel The Unknown Ltd where relevant. Some customers should be covered by ATOL, or by separate insurance arranged through James Hallam; alternatively you may be able to make a claim from your own travel insurers or from your credit card company.
Herron Fisher will set up a designated email address for customers who are affected by the failure of Travel The Unknown Ltd.
As a high volume of enquiries is anticipated, Herron Fisher ask customers not to make contact for details of the claims process until they have received and reviewed their initial email as detailed above. Thereafter, please only contact them by email and not by telephone as this is the most efficient way for them to deal with your queries.
Message from the company
From all of us at Travel The Unknown we would like to thank all of our customers for their business over the years and for giving us the opportunity to be involved in something which gave us so many happy times and memories which we will always cherish. We would also like to say a huge thank you to our partners who have worked with us in providing the experiences which brought so many smiles and fulfilled so many travel aspirations.
Whilst we did our best to help as many of you travel virtually while borders were closed, sadly Covid-19 has brought our business to an abrupt halt. The duration of the pandemic to date, as well as the uncertain forecast in regard to international travel, has led to this very difficult decision.
We are grateful to those clients who chose to postpone their trips and are sorry to those of you whose trips we could not fulfil. However, due to the lack of bookings in the past 18 months and a gradually worsening financial position, combined with working in a complex supply chain and extremely challenging business environment for travel companies, we were sadly left with no choice.
We wish you all the best for the future and many happy travels into the Unknown when the time allows again. Travel The Unknown
